Bananafish (named after the classic short story by Salinger, a personal favorite) is a site I frequent for excellent online fiction, and I was charmed by its most recent story by Deborah Reed called "I Want to Write Like Edith Wharton." It's playful, a bit silly, and has a little fun with Ms. Wharton through the perspective of a contemporary writer. It grabbed my attention from the beginning lines of dialogue and got more and more marvelously farfetched as it developed. It made me laugh and I would like to share it with my real and imagined blog readers.
Happy reading, chums.
