So far, my 2010's shaping up pretty well. The bad news: I'm starting to think a PhD is not on my horizon in the near future. But the good news: my agent sent novel #1 to publishers! Yay! And I have novel #2 completed and recently won UC Berkeley's Crothers Fiction Prize for the first chapter of novel #3. Writingwise, life is looking good, even if academia has proved disappointing.
Other good news: hooray for everything has a new bass player named Pete, and we're learning new songs and booking shows again. I'll post 'em here when we have solid dates. We were reviewed in the East Bay Express the week of January 27-February 2nd, and here's what was said:
"Impressive debut from this punk trio that has only been together for about a year. Singer Faith is sweet voiced but snarly, with lyrical highlights that include a hilariously pointed send-up of the kind of guys who want to marry a RealDoll. Sitting solidly at the more melodic, poppy end of the punk spectrum, this is as accessible as punk gets. Highly recommended."
